About the Planetary Mixer 10 Litre

A 10 litre bowl on 500 W, taking up to 1.5 kg of dough. Whisk, beater and hook between them cover most of what a small bakery does that is not bread - creams, batters, icings, fillings, and light dough when it is needed.

A planetary works by moving the attachment around the bowl while it spins, which suits aeration and emulsion. That is a different job from developing gluten, which is what a spiral mixer is built for.

This is the size for a café or a small bakery producing cakes and desserts daily.

The bowl capacity and the dough capacity are not the same number, and the gap is deliberate: ten litres of cream is easy work, a kilo and a half of dough is not. If bread is becoming the bulk of your output, look at the spiral range instead.

Frequently asked questions

How much power does it draw?
It draws 500 W. Check that the point it will run on is rated for that before installing it.
What is the bowl capacity?
The bowl is 10 litre.
How much dough can it knead in one batch?
Up to 1.5 kg. That is the dough limit, which is a lower number than the bowl capacity because dough is the hardest thing you can ask it to do.
Why choose a planetary mixer over a spiral?
A planetary takes a whisk, a beater and a hook, so one machine covers cream, batter, icing and dough. It is the all-purpose choice; for bread in quantity a spiral mixer of the same litreage develops dough better.
What size mixer should I buy?
Match it to the batch you usually make rather than the largest you ever make. A mixer run well under capacity does not work the dough as well as one working near it.
What other sizes are available?
This category also has the Planetary Mixer 20 Litre, the Planetary Mixer 30 Litre and the Planetary Mixer 40 Litre. Tell us your daily output and we will point you at the right one.
What is the model number?
Model B-10.
