How to Choose a Commercial Bread Toaster
Conveyor for continuous service, pop-up for 4 or 6 slices at a time, and a vertical bun toaster for a burger line.
Bread and bun toasting splits into three machine types, and picking the wrong one is the usual reason a counter slows down. All the models here run on 220 V single phase with stainless steel bodies, so the choice is about how your product moves, not about power.
Pop-up toasters
Four slice on 1.28 KW and six slice on 3.3 KW, at 370 x 210 mm and 460 x 210 mm. These suit breakfast service, a hotel buffet where guests toast their own, or a cafe toasting to order in small numbers. They are the smallest and cheapest option and also the slowest per hundred slices, because every batch is loaded and unloaded by hand.
Conveyor toasters
The conveyor models take bread in at one end and deliver it toasted at the other, so the counter never waits for a cycle to finish. The TT-150 draws 1.3 KW in 290 x 420 mm and the TT-300 draws 1.92 KW in 370 x 420 mm. For any counter putting out a steady stream rather than occasional batches, a conveyor is the machine that keeps the queue moving, and the larger model is worth the extra 80 mm of bench.
Vertical bun toasters
The vertical bun toaster is a different machine for a different job. At 425 x 295 x 615 mm on 2 KW, it toasts the cut faces of burger buns, which is what a burger counter actually needs. A pop-up toaster cannot hold a bun open, and a conveyor toasts both sides including the crust. If burgers are your product, this is the one.
Choosing
- Occasional toast, small numbers: a pop-up, four or six slice.
- Continuous service: a conveyor, sized by slices an hour.
- Burger buns: the vertical toaster, every time.
Everything here runs from an ordinary socket, so no electrical work is needed. Tell us slices or buns per hour at your busiest and we will point you at the right machine rather than the biggest one.
